“H₂ storage in iron masses validated in practical tests” gwf 01/23

Does our HyCS technology live up to its promise? The practical test in our pilot plant shows positive results. The trade journal gwf Gas + Energie reports on this in its 01/2023 issue. Download the complete article here.
The efficient storage of electrical energy in the form of hydrogen is the key technology for implementing the energy transition. Our innovative HyCS technology for H2 storage in iron masses is a promising and cost-effective approach, which has been validated in practical tests in recent months. Initial results on the loading and unloading of the chemical H2 storage system show high temperature stability during the process.

“Hydrogen and Iron at Heart” E&M spezial 2022

The German portal "Energie & Management" dedicates an article to AMBARtec in the E&M annual magazine 2022. Under the headline "Hydrogen and Iron at Heart", the functionality and potential of our HyCS technology are described.

In the current issue of gwf Gas + Energie, Matthias Rudloff and Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Lutsch are featured with a technical article on the HyCS® process.
In order for the energy transition to succeed, the volatile amounts of energy generated from wind power and photovoltaics (PV) must be made available through storage for times of low energy production up to the "dark lull". The conversion of electrical energy into hydrogen (H2) and its storage are a relevant option for this. H2 storage in particular must become efficient, compact and cost-effective.

In the following, the innovative HyCS® technology for energy storage based on iron masses and H2 is described and compared with market-available technologies for H2 storage. Furthermore, two application cases are explained.
